What version of Ball Blue Book perserving should I expect?
This is my first year to start canning. Is there a particular version of the Ball Blue Book perserving that I should get?
There is not much difference from year to year. They have some announcements in the Blue Book that change from year to year, depending on what they have recently introduced, but the canning and freezing directions at nearly the same. I recommend getting a copy of the "Kerr Home Canning Book and procedures to freeze Food "book. It is no longer being published, they say, but you can get it from Amazon. My first wife, always check the end both books, because the recipes are not the same, and he helps her know that you can play with, and what you should consider essential. (I do not think she has followed the recipe exactly * in his life. Her kitchen was always fun to eat.) There is also the "Complete Guide to Home preserved "by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, available on Amazon. I've never heard someone sing the praises of this book but the USDA has a tendency to reliable guides.
